A little bit about The Lemon Tree . . .
The Lemon Tree Restaurant and Bar is a historic building full of character with fine river views. From this ideal location our chefs offer a superb selection of fresh food a reasonable price.
The restaurant is unique barn-style conversion of the old harbour masters house. Circa 1570 with a vaulted ceiling and minstrels' gallery a unique dining experience is found at The Lemon Tree, with an atmosphere to suit all occasions. We've also got a real, fruiting lemon tree, dependant on fruit, you may even find a slice of lemon from the tree within you beverage!
Choose to eat in the lively ground floor restaurant with its inviting log burning open fire, airy high ceiling and two storey leaded feature window fitted by the Duke of Norfolk from Arundel Castle. With the buzz of the continental style bar close by and the comfy seating area around it, the atmosphere is intimate and relaxing, however come along on one of our famous theme nights and see things liven up, including Live music, Jazz, discos, Casino Nights, Line Dancing, Themed dining and more.
You can also dine upstairs - choose between the cosy minstrels' gallery which overlooks the ground floor and bar and captures it's atmosphere; or the larger, quieter, waterfront dining area with its splendid scenic river views across the estuary.
Alternatively, eat al fresco in our newly furnished heated patio area overlooking the River Arun, with harbour views, from breakfast to sunset. The outside seating area is in an ideal location to watch the boats go past, or see the life boats launch on one of their heroic outings to save lives.
